Deadman's Foot
30 Oct 2010
An unusual looking "Deadman's Foot" fungus erupts at the edge of a county road.
This fungus loves asphalt, hard-packed soils, waste areas.
As the Deadman's Foot expands to release its spores, its cap splits into sections.
These fat "toes" will arch backwards and spread wide apart.
This gives this fungus the appearance of a swollen
and decomposing human foot, hence its name.
