A Stroll Through Elkhorn Slough

The "Five Fingers" Trail Follows An Old Farm Road Along The Edge Of The Slough.
It's a peaceful walk along shaded avenues.
There are overlooks for viewing local wildlife.
Snakes and lizards often sun themselves along this section of trail.
Area abounds with wildlife, including this osprey hovering above its nest.
Visitors can spend hours exploring different trails within the preserve.
Volunteer docents lead tours through the preserve daily.
Birders find visiting the park especially rewarding.
Native and invasive plant species are protected within the park's boundaries.
To help protect oaks within the preserve from sudden oak death syndrome,
visitors are provided with Lysol to disinfect their shoes before walking the trails.
