Garter Snake
A tiny garter snake forms itself to the irregular surface of a large tree root.
When I attempted to get closer, it made a sudden move.
Slipping to the ground, it coiled into this distinctive figure 8 position.
Usually timid and quite wary, garter snake sightings are common in spring time.
